Spiritual Convos – God Space
How many times have you been frustrated by your efforts to share the gospel?
Does this sound like your experience: it’s a 3-day process to work up the courage, the person you shared with is uninterested, and they actually have really good reasons for not taking your viewpoint. You feel like a failure afterward – confused and ashamed that you somehow failed to top it off now your relationship is awkward.
It doesn’t have to be this way!
You can have spiritual conversations that are not only meaningful but also engaging and transformative. When we engage people like Jesus, we can’t help but reflect His love. When this happens, God shows up. The Holy Spirit will begin touching the longings of the hearts of those around you as you create space for Him to work and speak through you.
This course will show you how to have these kind of conversations, God Space conversations. It’s designed to empower you with the tools to effectively share God so you can be confident to enter into spiritual conversation with anyone.
Here’s what you can expect:
- You will unlock barriers to talking about spiritual things
- You will learn how to ask relevant questions that stir a person’s heart
- You will learn how and when to bring in scripture and your own experience
- You will learn how to avoid many of the mistakes Christians make when talking about God and their relationship with Him.
This is a 5-session training spanning 5 weeks. Each week, participants will be given reading and activity assignments to solidify learning, including the 5 steps to effective whole person evangelism:
- Noticing – opening our eyes to what’s really going on
- Serving – the importance of taking the initiative to communicate God’s love
- Listening – the practice of saying less to say more
- Wondering – learning to engage our curiosity and explore
- Sharing – the time and place for your witness of God’s story

We have given the God Space Course in many different churches in the Netherlands. It is opening people’s eyes to discipleship as a lifestyle. One of the things we hear most is people thanking us for the simplicity of the course. It is not a technique they learn, but an intentionality in living amongst not-yet-believers. Many people know that they are called to be witnesses, but also dread it! Most have a more ‘classical’ idea of standing on the market square and calling out to strangers. God Space doesn’t start with strangers, but with family, friends, neighbors and colleagues. It is so good to see that the bar of evangelism is lowered and people start realizing that this is doable.
After God Space Course we started a coffee room in our neighborhood. We started inviting neighbors to have coffee with us. We did not start with evangelism, but being present, listening and serving. We have gone from casual to meaningful conversations and every now and then a spiritual conversation.
Initially, people were afraid to come to the coffee shop because they knew it was connected to our church, but more recently we have noticed that they not only feel safe there but are coming with their spiritual questions without us prompting them. It’s incredible!
